My Work: Seven Deadly Sins

This is what I’ve been working on over the last week or so. It started out with taking photographs of the horrible things I saw on home shopping channels while flipping through TV stations. Then I got the idea to make them into the seven deadly sins, using embroidery and my favorite medium contact paper. This is the result after I’ve completed two of them. I’m toying with the idea of stitching them together as well, like a wall hanging or tapestry, but I’m not sure. They might look better separated. Also not sure if I should sell them as a group or individually. Still a work in progress.

  1. Nice! I like the hand embroidery touch. I say sell them as a group and then do high quality reproductions that can be purchased individually etc. I made a short film on this theme in 2005 (“The Deadliest Sin”) and it was part of my one woman gallery show in Los Angeles called “Saints & Sinners”. I’d like to upload the video to my website but the guy who helped me edit it locked it and vanished into the night after my gallery show. What sin is that?
